OIRA partners with HUIT and others on the development of processes, structures, and analysis to support data stewardship, data quality, security, privacy, integration, access, and compliance issues. OIRA also helps develop an analytics culture across the university by creating communities of practice and “connecting the dots” through collaborative data strategy and governance efforts.
While various Harvard offices and teams play critical roles in shaping data governance and strategy, OIRA contributes to this work by ensuring that the individuals represented within the data (e.g., students, faculty, and staff) are represented in data governance decisions. OIRA is well-positioned to articulate data governance needs and spot data integrity concerns that might appear as part of our ongoing reporting and analytics projects.
