Inger Bergom joined OIRA in 2021 as Senior Research Analyst. At OIRA, she conducts analyses to support administrative decisions related to academic and auxiliary functions of the university and consults with university offices to improve the management and presentation of institutional data. Prior to Harvard, she worked at Tufts University, first as Senior Researcher at the Institute for Democracy and Higher Education and then as an institutional research analyst. As an adjunct faculty member, she taught organizational theory and practice in higher education at Merrimack College. 

Inger earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Michigan and B.A. in Music and Gender Studies from Grinnell College. At U-M, she specialized in evaluation and assessment, learning and teaching, and faculty work and studied research methods and survey design at the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Higher Education, Review of Higher Education, and Journal of Engineering Education. She currently serves as Assistant Editor of AIR Professional File. A native of Waverly, Iowa, she enjoys traveling to new places and exploring Cambridge and Boston.
